Not playing so nice any more

I forgot how much fun taunting others could be. Being a tired, helpless old man is getting me nowhere in the sympathy stakes and I have no reason to pretend to be so understanding any longer. So I may as well be myself again.

Clearly I was correct in my beliefs that Muggles are far inferior to wizards. You cannot seem to do very much without magic - or not very efficiently, at least. If not for your own recent failings the ultimate proof is my current non-magical condition. So all I can do is pity you that you are stuck that way when I at some point will regain my true powers.

Any other demons or otherwise supernatural beings here... Don't try to defend them. You have power and they have not. I'm sure you've been glad of that at some time or other if you have not outright used that power against them.

I've tried. Being fake - much as I tried not to be - does not fool the Admiral into graduating anybody. So why should I keep lying to myself and everybody else?

I did try to be what people wanted me to be, not what they expected me to be. I want to graduate. But clearly the way I was going about it was not working. I am not claiming that this will help me graduate either - but at least I am having a more enjoyable time of it - and if people want to complain about this then let them. They're already complaining about how grumpy and miserable I am and that is not me.

I've always looked on the bright side of things.

How about, instead, genuinely trying to realise your faults?

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I am acknowledging them right now.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Except you're not. You're sitting there, justifying your theories to yourself, blinding yourself to the full extent of your fault.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a start. I'm not trying to justify anything. I'm admitting that I do have these faults. I'm not saying I don't have others.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's hardly admitting they're faults when you're unapologetic.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Then that is another of my faults.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Then do something about it.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
And what would you suggest?

I've apologised before. I've offered help to others. I've tried to be nice. I've tried to understand other points of view.

What are you suggesting that I do?

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I'm not your warden. Try reconsidering your attitudes to the rest of us.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
What you fail to understand is I do not actually care any longer. Graduating is not within my grasp and so I am going to enjoy myself instead.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll be less enjoyable once everyone starts beating you up and you can't do a thing about it.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it will teach me a lesson in humility.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
And you're clearly nothing more than a criminal if that's the only way you can learn.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Didn't you always suspect that was so?

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No, actually. By my old methods, you weren't a criminal at all. Now, I'm convinced otherwise.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I do remember all that measuring.

But I am a wizard, which means I am automatically bad in your eyes anyway, correct?

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Being a wizard doesn't make you a criminal. Nor does it make you automatically bad. I just don't trust you.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
And you would be smart not to trust me.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Perfect. Good. Because I am untrustworthy.

And I'll admit that as another fault.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
So why not try to be trustworthy?

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no current need to try to do that.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone needs to be trusted by someone.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I made some potions once. I should have been trusted with them - and I made them fine and properly - but I was not asked to make any more. For all I know they were tossed overboard and not ever used, even if they could have been helpful. Nobody trusted me even when I was doing the right thing.

Maybe one day somebody will trust me with something else and then maybe I can prove that I can do it - but right now, it does not matter.
