I really do hope that liking the majority of people here is not a requirement of graduation.

Because you are a very difficult group to like. You complain and insult for little to no reason. You threaten and murder - or are hypocrital by threatening and then not following through. Cowardly, I will add to that in those cases. You ignore some things that may be of importance yet jump all over certain other things that essentially should be ignored.

I am speaking about both inmates and wardens here. The vast majority, anyhow - not every single one of you. There are a few exceptions but they are very few.

It is not surprising that there are very few graduations, considering most inmates have no wish to and so do not even attempt to be better people and most of the wardens do not care less about those in their care. An occasional punishment once your inmate has slaughtered multiple people is hardly keeping a decent watch on the situation.

I am honestly tired of the pettiness displayed here. I can understand inmates being stubborn and thinking they are right all the time but wardens should set better examples and do what they are here to do. Or they should leave.

Most of you are bringing about your own misery.

And truly, if you do wish to remain here then you could at least stop complaining.

Eh... There's a lot to complain about.

Maybe it's like that on purpose to provide an incentive.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Incentive to leave? It doesn't seem to work in most cases.

Neither do a lot of things, unfortunately.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
So how do you encourage your inmate toward graduation?

[personal profile] acid_rayne 2010-07-10 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I do my best to phase out her urge to commit graphic torture, murder and cannibalism, so... Y'know. But nothing like that's happened for months.

When an inmate has exhibited inappropriate behavior, is there no monitoring system or way to contain them within a room?

[No forcefields or anything? He does not understand this.]

I concur that most of the inmates do not wish to be rehabilitated, but I was under the impression that wardens were chosen to assist on the basis that they agreed with the terms that the Admiral put forth. I find you are not required to like someone to help them or accept assistance in turn.

I will take these points of view into consideration in any of my future actions, though they're not unlike some I have already encountered. I do know your warden very much wishes to provide you with assistance.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you could sit there and watch them. I don't really know that much about how wardens can punish and watch their inmates. Though if they are that much of a danger you have to send them to Zero.

Many wardens are not living up to their titles and expectations, I'm afraid.

I am not including my warden in this negative group.

You have spoken to Adric?
empirical_data: (arm grab)

[personal profile] empirical_data 2010-07-10 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
I communicated with him briefly when I first arrived, and he has admirable dedication to the role.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
He is quite a nice, young man. You will find, though, that the majority here are not quite so dedicated to their roles. Then they complain that they're here - so you would think they would simply depart, but yet they stay.

By the Gods! Is the wizard right for once?!

To be fair, I'd say most wardens don't fit into that description, but you couldn't be more right about the inmates. Most of them don't recognise help when they're getting it.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm amazed you agree with me about something.

Perhaps I should be this honest all the time then instead of trying not to hurt people's feelings.

When Monsieur Longbottom left, he left several wizarding plants in my care in the greenhouse. I've asked Adric if I could borrow you a little to make sure I didn't kill them. He consented.

No. Just seven months of observation of the goings on here.

It can be... disheartening.

Well, some of the people here are very good. Like the Doctors. And Martha. Maybe it would help to try and figure out why they are the way they are?

But no, liking most of the people here isn't a requirement.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
One of the Doctors was very helpful early on. We had some good discussions.

You seem like you're in a good mood today.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
I would assume they'd like inmates to be nicer in general though.

I am hoping to find some kind of peace in the near future.

[identity profile] cuzitswrong.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately manners aren't a necessary pre-req for productive members of society.

I'm sorry to hear things have been getting under your skin though. I can't blame you for wanting to stick cotton in your ears the way some people go on around here.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-13 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
They can get very tiresome.
