I really do hope that liking the majority of people here is not a requirement of graduation.

Because you are a very difficult group to like. You complain and insult for little to no reason. You threaten and murder - or are hypocrital by threatening and then not following through. Cowardly, I will add to that in those cases. You ignore some things that may be of importance yet jump all over certain other things that essentially should be ignored.

I am speaking about both inmates and wardens here. The vast majority, anyhow - not every single one of you. There are a few exceptions but they are very few.

It is not surprising that there are very few graduations, considering most inmates have no wish to and so do not even attempt to be better people and most of the wardens do not care less about those in their care. An occasional punishment once your inmate has slaughtered multiple people is hardly keeping a decent watch on the situation.

I am honestly tired of the pettiness displayed here. I can understand inmates being stubborn and thinking they are right all the time but wardens should set better examples and do what they are here to do. Or they should leave.

Most of you are bringing about your own misery.

And truly, if you do wish to remain here then you could at least stop complaining.

That's, generally, overrated.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
No, sparing people's feelings.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as being pleasant to those that don't deserve that courtesy isn't a required step toward graduation, I'm perfectly happy to continue to be blunt.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm fairly sure half the wardens aren't nice people.

I'm also fairly sure that most of them do do their job pretty well and your assertions there are wrong.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
From the era I grew up in we were taught you should at least be civil to people - even if they were discourteous back.

Do you have some kind of record of every warden here and their progress with their inmates? From what I've noticed many of them are either too concerned with their own personal problems or just want to go and get drunk. Neither of which inspires much confidence.

this is swing, back railing for a lynching.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Not quite a record of progress. And I'm fairly sure you're brushing over a lot of people there. They're the authority here and they're doing their best in a difficult situation - that is, a boat full of criminals which has wildly ridiculous occurances half the time which might actually give people problems to deal with, or, surprise, surprise, get in the way of them actually doing their job.

I have confidence in the authority here. I didn't used to, but I've learnt alot since then.

And godsdammit, if criminals are going to be this ungrateful and critical and sneering about the whole thing, then why should they bother? Half you criminals aren't even worth it.

If the Admiral would stop steering the ship so badly then maybe we can have a quiet week.

Perhaps the ones doing their job properly are simply doing it and not being so vocal about their own misfortunes over the communication network. So I will concede that perhaps more are doing their job properly than I can see.

Indeed, it must be difficult to work with people who honestly admit they do not wish to leave here at all. I imagine how frustrating that must be but wardens are free to leave or ask for reassignments, correct? So they should decide who is a lost cause and move on.

I completely agree that at least half of them are likely not worth the trouble.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Most people who actually get their job done are not as easily noticed.

Maybe they just don't want to give up on people - maybe they have more hope for criminal types than we do.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they just want their reward at the end.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
So, you'd think, they'd keep asking for reassignment until they got an easy one.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing the Admiral wouldn't approve of that.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I just think nobody's had the nerve to try.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest I think most of the wardens here are too lazy or dim-witted to have even thought about doing that.

swing. actually talking from experience. go figure.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
And I think you like to think yourself better than all of them because it makes it easier to excuse your lack of self-awareness.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I am very aware of both my failings and my good points. I also do believe that I am better than most of the people on this ship - and that is not because I am a wizard.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
...I imagine this is going to end badly for you and quite quickly.

the fact he's repeating the doctor's words to him has sort of passed him by.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Not many people like other people thinking they're better than them.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I really doubt anything will happen. A bunch of people threatened me last port and then did nothing. So people throw harmful words at me? They aren't going to hurt anyone unless they are magical.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone'll arrange a lynch mob at some point - they're all criminals, and you're not invulnerable.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not afraid of death.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you're just stupid.

[identity profile] wandthief.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Why? Do you fear death? You shouldn't. It is something to be embraced when it is your time to go.

Fearing death leads to fools like Voldemort thinking they are better than death itself.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-12 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called self-preservation, you idiot.
