Ah, this does take me back. What a lovely town - and so festive.

The mood was much more sombre, with much less pink, but this place does look very much like my home town. I feel very nostalgic indeed.

I like my reputation to be straightforward, y'know. So I'm going to brood, sulk and sit here and laugh at other's misfortune. Because this place is brimming with magic, and I sense hilarity afoot.

I'd want to dabble in dark and gloomy side of magic if I grew up in a place which was this pink. Admittedly, I do anyway, but that's beside the point.

Yes, indeed, the place is virtually humming with magical life. I'm sure it will be fascinating to observe. Maybe I can take back a few samples? This seems like the perfect place for love potions. I can make Amortentia, you know. In theory.

Back home there were dark and gloomy parts but there were also very bright parts. I liked to explore both.

But if it's short, bearded and carrying an axe, it's a Dwarf, you know. No use in pretending otherwise. Anyway, nothing negative about dark magic itself, just it's applications.

Yes, exactly. The Dark Arts have a bad reputation in some corners of my world but we were taught them at my school. They have their uses in both good and bad situations.

Don't worry, I wouldn't force love potions on to anybody, although I do have a lighter version in mind I'd like to experiment with. If they have any here maybe I can break down the components to see how it works.

They do. The important thing is not the magic, but what you judge a good and bad use of them.

I'm sure you and I can have experiments for weeks on end with some of this magic. Even if I'm not quite sure I'd like it in my office for long.

...both, really. It's my duty in statute not to enjoy such delightful colours, especially in such great quantities. And wizards don't do love in my world. Or relationships. Or any of that mess.

Dr. Hix has granted me my wand and nearly all of my powers, when he is nearby. You haven't heard of me posing any threat to the Barge, have you? I even objected to this recent inmate atrocity that some of them thought was a game.
